This posting is designed to help support you through your first evaluation question. Don't forget that the aim is to be evaluative and reflective and to combine all your theory and analysis work from the last two years. Bear in mind audience, institution, representational issues, theory links and media language.
Question 1:
In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products.
Okay....lets go back.....what genre are you working in? How did you research this genre (screen shots, links to real media products) What are the conventions of that genre (prezi it up) Did you use, challenge or subvert them and why? Place each of your products next to a real piece of media and hack it up - use all the layout terminology for print and film- draw comparisons to mast heads, mode of address, font, presentational features and also camera work, editing, mise-en-scene. Screen shot your film and place it next to a similar product.
Can we get some theory worked in? Genre theory? Audience reception theory? Look at my theory links down the side of this blog......Barthes, Todorov,Mulvey, Gilmore, Goodwin, Stewart and look for my comments on your blogs to improve your responses.
